Top mounts, explanation: suspension strut mounts, join the vehicle chassis and the wheel suspensions to one another. Together with shock absorbers, air springs and coil springs, they reduce unwanted vibrations felt by the passengers. They contribute decisively to the stability of the vehicle and provide a cushioning effect: Potholes and obstacles on the road are thus cushioned and tyre noise is minimised.
